Examinations and Certification

Any organization that performs any of the LPG activities described below is required to be a licensee of the Railroad Commission of Texas.

A licensee must employ at least one company representative who has passed the applicable management-level qualifying examination and met all applicable training requirements.   A company representative applicant may not perform work or be employed in any capacity requiring contact with LPG before these requirements are met.

An outlet is defined as a site operated by an LPG licensee from which any regulated LPG activity is performed. An operations supervisor is the individual who is certified by the Commission to actively supervise a licensee's LPG operations at an outlet and is authorized by the licensee to implement operational changes. An operations supervisor is not required to hold a Railroad Commission management-level certificate.
