CLASS/EXAM SCHEDULE

Most classes are held from March 1 through November 30 each year in all regions of Texas.  If the current schedule does not include a class near you, please check back with us.  AFRED’s eight-hour classes are FREE for RRC certificate holders who have paid the annual renewal fee. The fee for an eight-hour class is $75 per person for new applicants' first-year training class and for uncertified individuals, including those whose certificates have expired.

Class notes:

• Pre-registration is required for all classes at least seven calendar days prior to the scheduled class.
• Classes may be canceled up to 7 days prior to the scheduled date.
• All classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Walk-in exams are offered every business day from 8 a.m.-12 noon at the AFRED Training Center, 6506 Bolm Road, Austin.
• Examinations are also available at the other times and places noted in the Exams column.
• Pre-registration is required for all examinations given outside Austin at least two business days prior to the exam.
• Exams scheduled outside Austin may be canceled up to two business days before the scheduled date.
• NO EXAMS in the exam column means no exams will be administered at the class location that day.
• STUDENTS ONLY in the exam column means exams will be administered only to students in that class.
• EXAMS ONLY in the course title column means on that day there is no class; only exams will be given.
• When the exam start time is listed as 8:00 a.m., no exams will be started after 8:30 a.m. All exams must be turned in by 4:45 p.m.
• When the exam start time is listed as 5:00 p.m., no exams will be started after 5:30 p.m. All exams must be turned in by 6:45 p.m.
• Category E, F, G, I and J management-level exams are administered during the respective classes.
